Month: February 2015

EcoGreen CarWith an impressive EPA-estimated mileage of 40 mpg combined, the 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage was named one of the “Greenest Vehicles” of the year by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE).

The Mirage is powered by a 1.2-liter engine and a continuously variable automatic transmission. It is the only traditional gasoline-powered vehicle on the list, but it is clear to see that its engineering is anything but run-of-the-mill. The hatchback provides impressive efficiency even among competing models using alternative fuels. This provides customers with the familiarity that comes with gasoline power while providing efficient travel and peace of mind in knowing the vehicle is environmentally friendly, even more so than some of the hybrid and electric vehicles on the list.

“We are pleased to see our 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage named to the ACEEE’s ‘Greenest Vehicles’ list, and we look forward to launching more new innovative and affordably-priced environmentally-friendly vehicles in the future,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president for Mitsubishi Motors North America.

Furthermore, “with its low price, plentiful features, exceptional fuel economy and extensive warranty, the Mitsubishi Mirage offers automotive consumers an unprecedented new-car value.”

Available with a starting price of just $12,995, you can find the award-winning 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage here at Don Robinson Mitsubishi today.

Traveling with Animals

If you are like most – your pets are an integral part of the family, and therefore accompany you on many car rides! In honor of February’s Responsible Pet Owners’ Month, here are a few doggie travel tips.

Whether running out to the store or going on an extended trip, make sure that you take your dog’s collar, ID tag, leash and water/bowl. If you haven’t already done so, the Humane Society recommends having your dog micro chipped in case of separation. This can be done at your local veterinarians office.

Safety first! It turns out Sir Isaac Newton was right about those laws of motion! Just as you wouldn’t travel without a seat belt, make sure your pet is safely contained in the back seat in either a crash approved crate or a belted safety harness while traveling. This also helps in decreasing driver distraction.

When traveling long distances, remember to stop frequently. Cesar Milan recommends taking breaks every 2-3 hours so your canine companion can stretch his legs, do his business, and grab a quick drink.

Whether traveling near or far with your furry friends, we at Don Robinson Mitsubishi wish all of our readers and their canine companions a safe and happy Responsible Pet Owners’ Month.

After seeing Mitsubishi’s Super Bowl commercial, you may have asked yourself: is Mitsubishi really going to follow a pizza driver around? Believe it or not, the automaker saw the recent string of bad weather as a perfect opportunity to show off the Mitsubishi Outlander safety features.

The recent snow and ice in Boston made it very difficult for people to get around, especially pizza delivery drivers. According to Mitsubishi, that’s why it gave one lucky driver an opportunity to cruise around in the new Outlander during the Super Bowl, dubbed the “Protect the Pie” campaign.

“During the biggest sporting event of the year, nobody has more to lose than one man – not the players, not the coaches, not even the advertisers spending millions and millions of dollars,” read Mitsubishi’s ad. They said that, “we’re talking about the pizza guy.”

Granted, it may seem a little weird, but we think Mitsubishi has a point. With the lucky driver behind the wheel of the Outlander with Forward Collision Mitigation and other advanced technologies, accidents were easy to avoid. That’s one of the reasons the 2015 Outlander was recently named a Top Safety Pick + by the IIHS. Don’t worry; as far as the pizza deliveries went, they were all safety delivered.

2015 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV

The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has been named The Motor Report’s Best Buy of 2015 after the publication spent “countless hours” comparing the cars on its Top Ten Best Buys 2015.

The Outlander PHEV, which is getting a new facelift this year, is one of our best family offerings by Mitsubishi Motors. It’s the world’s first plug-in SUV, with an electric range of about 50 kilometers (31 miles) to help families make fewer trips to the pump.

The Motor Report claims that after tracking fuel consumption over a month of use on regional roads, including regular longer runs, the Outlander PHEV averaged 3.8 liters/100km.  This comes out to be about 61 miles per gallon.

The Motor Report also applauded its versatile packaging, performance, and value. The Motor Report says that, “this very clever piece of advanced EV technology not only establishes a new affordable benchmark for sustainable motoring, but, by packaging these technologies into an SUV, Mitsubishi engineers have moved the goal posts significantly in drivability, ease-of-ownership, and practicality.”

We here at Don Robinson Mitsubishi can’t wait until we get to see one!  Stop in with us to get all the latest information about it!
