Families and foodies everywhere look forward to Thanksgiving all year long. However, while we all have our favorite dishes, it’s always fun to try something new, too. Here are a few must-have Thanksgiving side dishes that you can try adding to your family’s menu.
Butternut Squash Mash
This traditional dish can take you all the way back to the Pilgrims. It is creamy, buttery, and delicious, which is how it has survived for hundreds of years. You can even add a splash of maple syrup to give it a slightly sweeter taste.
Baked Cranberry Sauce
Skip the canned cranberries this year and make your own. It is so easy and delicious that you will never want to eat it from a can again. All you need is fresh cranberries, sugar, and water. Combine everything in a casserole dish and bake.
New Green Bean Casserole
Give this Thanksgiving favorite an update with fresh ingredients and homemade mushroom sauce. Add a bit of blue cheese for an extra boost of flavor.
Sweet Potato Casserole
This dish comes together easily and will have everyone coming back for more. When topped with the sweet pecan crumble, it tastes almost like a dessert, so be sure to make plenty for the whole family.
If you find that you need (or would like) a new vehicle to go to the family Thanksgiving dinner, make sure to stop by Don Robinson Mitsubishi. We would be more than happy to help you find the perfect vehicle for you.
Thanksgiving is rolling around, which means family and friends will be coming together for a feast before you know it. This holiday season, however, we here at Don Robinson Mitsubishi would like to ask you to give a little back to your community. The local food pantries in St. Cloud could use your donations in preparation this coming holiday.
The Salvation Army Food Shelf is one of the major food pantries in our area. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday between 1pm and 3pm as well as Tuesday and Thursday between 9am and 11am.
Those in need should note that there’s a one visit per month limit and you’ll need a photo ID and proof of address as well. The Salvation Army Food Shelf in St. Cloud, Minnesota serves the Benton, Sherburne, and Stearns counties.
It doesn’t matter how little or how much you give—every bit helps feed the hungry and less fortunate in our very own community.
If you don’t have anything to give, consider volunteering your time instead. Contact the food pantry directly at (320) 252-4552. Potential volunteers can also fill out a volunteer application and drop it off at the Worship and Service Center located at 400 U.S. Highway 10 South.
