A new teaser for the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander has hit the web. Although the image doesn’t reveal too many details about the new 5-passenger compact SUV, it does reveal enough to raise our collective excitement over what promises to be a technologically advanced, comfortable, and safe family vehicle.

A new Dynamic Shield concept gives the exterior design a more robust look. The primary headlights are repositioned to rest directly below the turn signal lamps. Its style is further enhanced thanks to an hourglass-shaped front fascia and a biplane grille. Altogether, these exterior developments give the 2022 Outlander an appearance more akin to trucks than compact SUVs.

Size increases and technology improvements are also expected for the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander. The vehicle will run off the power of a brand-new engine, replacing the 2021 Outlander’s 2.0-liter and 2.4-liter MIVEC, the latter of which generates a whopping 168 horsepower.

Rumors are swirling that this new SUV will sport a Nissan engine. Likewise, Nissan is rumored to be incorporating Mitsubishi’s PHEV system into one of its new vehicles. However, none of this has yet been confirmed.

A livestream in February of 2021 will provide the platform for the official debut of the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander. Like you, we here at Don Robinson Mitsubishi can’t wait to find out more about this exciting new SUV!

Mitsubishi announced that it will be delivering the redesigned Eclipse Cross by the second quarter of 2021, so that means you’ll be able to own the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SUV early next year.

The overhauled Eclipse Cross blends utility with modern aesthetics to create a stylish yet functional SUV for fashionable families in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. The new look flaunted by the updated Eclipse Cross has more dynamic angles and eye-catching lines. To summarize this SUV in one word, it would be … hot!

In particular, the new Eclipse Cross is a must-buy if you live in Saint Cloud. Its highly efficient fuel economy is valuable for saving money if you commute frequently to Minneapolis or run errands around town every day while your kids are in school.

So far, Mitsubishi has only released teasers of the new Eclipse Cross, so we’re hoping for more details to come by the end of the year. We do know that the SUV’s new design draws inspiration from the e-EVOLUTION Concept, but we don’t know how that will translate to its inner workings.

On the heels of the 2022 Eclipse Cross will be the rest of the 2022 Mitsubishi lineup, which has other changes in store. These include exterior updates on the Mirage and Mirage G4, plus an all-new generation of the Outlander and improved all-electric driving range on the Outlander PHEV. Going forward, every Mitsubishi will have Forward Collision Mitigation with Pedestrian Detection as standard.
